{"id":6179,"date":"2020-01-06T15:19:07","date_gmt":"2020-01-06T07:19:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.wahtn.org\/?p=6179"},"modified":"2020-01-06T15:19:07","modified_gmt":"2020-01-06T07:19:07","slug":"linkage-projects-for-funding-in-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/old-website.retprogram.org\/wahtn\/2020\/01\/06\/linkage-projects-for-funding-in-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Linkage Projects for Funding in 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arc.gov.au\/grants\/linkage-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Linkage Projects scheme<\/a> supports projects which initiate or develop long term strategic research alliances to apply advanced knowledge to problems, acquire new knowledge and as a basis for securing commercial and other benefits of research.<\/p>\n<p>To facilitate successful collaboration between higher education institutions and other parts of the innovation system, there will be three assessment rounds for Linkage Projects for funding applied for in 2020, an d funding outcomes will be recommended to the Minister within six months of the application closing date for each round.<\/p>\n<p>The Linkage Projects scheme objectives are to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the development of long-term strategic research alliances between higher education organisations and industry and other research end-users, in order to apply advanced knowledge to problems<\/li>\n<li>Provide opportunities for internationally competitive research projects to be conducted in collaboration with organisations outside the higher education sector<\/li>\n<li>Enhance the scale and focus of research in Australian Government priority areas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The intended outcomes of the Linkage Projects scheme are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The growth of a national pool of world-class researchers to meet the needs of the broader Australian innovation system<\/li>\n<li>Economic, commercial, environmental, social and\/or cultural benefits for Australia<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications may only be submitted through the Research Office of an Eligible Organisation listed in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grants.gov.au\/?event=public.FO.show&amp;FOUUID=DC691834-C0AB-6C8F-17B11C91128B0C3A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grant Guidelines<\/a>. The application must nominate at least one Chief Investigator (CI). The first CI will be the Project Leader.
