{"id":6094,"date":"2019-12-02T11:48:55","date_gmt":"2019-12-02T03:48:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.wahtn.org\/?p=6094"},"modified":"2019-12-02T11:48:55","modified_gmt":"2019-12-02T03:48:55","slug":"ovarian-cancer-research-grant-opportunity-epcdr-initiative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/old-website.retprogram.org\/wahtn\/2019\/12\/02\/ovarian-cancer-research-grant-opportunity-epcdr-initiative\/","title":{"rendered":"Ovarian Cancer Research Grant Opportunity (EPCDR Initiative)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.health.gov.au\/ministers\/the-hon-greg-hunt-mp\/media\/20-million-for-ovarian-cancer-research\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emerging Priorities and Consumer Driven Research<\/a> (EPCDR) Initiative aims to enable or support:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High quality biomedical, clinical, health services and\/or population health research which improves patient care<\/li>\n<li>Translation of new discoveries into clinical practice<\/li>\n<li>New diagnoses, treatments and cures to those suffering from rare and debilitating conditions<\/li>\n<li>Joint collaboration of consumers and researchers in undertaking research in emerging priority areas, and<\/li>\n<li>Many Australians with debilitating conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The objectives of the 2019 Ovarian Cancer Research grant opportunity aims to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facilitate innovative, high quality research which will lead to:\n<ul>\n<li>Improved diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cancer<\/li>\n<li>Research which will address the gaps in research, leading to a better understanding of the causes and underlying factors which contribute to the development and progression of ovarian cancer<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate consumer involvement in the design and evaluation of the research project (including participation in the conduct of the research)<\/li>\n<li>Provide high-quality evidence for the new health treatments and\/or drugs (where appropriate)<\/li>\n<li>Enable rapid translation of consumer-relevant research into clinical practice, health policy and\/or health advice which will lead to positive impacts for consumers<\/li>\n<li>Encourage the development of multi-disciplinary research teams which deliver measurable outcomes which are a priority for consumers<\/li>\n<li>Encourage collaboration between research teams, policy makers, healthcare funders and the health delivery sector (e.g. education, community, industry and\/or healthcare)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The total amount available is $20 million.
