{"id":4149,"date":"2018-12-06T11:19:56","date_gmt":"2018-12-06T03:19:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.wahtn.org\/?p=4149"},"modified":"2018-12-06T11:19:56","modified_gmt":"2018-12-06T03:19:56","slug":"wa-child-research-fund-formerly-telethon-perth-childrens-hospital-research-fund-now-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/old-website.retprogram.org\/wahtn\/2018\/12\/06\/wa-child-research-fund-formerly-telethon-perth-childrens-hospital-research-fund-now-open\/","title":{"rendered":"WA Child Research Fund (formerly Telethon &#8211; Perth Children&#8217;s Hospital Research Fund) &#8211; NOW OPEN!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Health\u00a0in conjunction with the\u00a0Channel 7 Telethon Trust\u00a0is pleased to announce the seventh round of the <strong><em>WA Child Research Fund (formerly the Telethon-Perth Children&#8217;s Hospital Research Fund ) <\/em><\/strong>is now open for applications for research funding to be awarded in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>WA Child Research Fund<\/em> was jointly established by the Department of Health and the Channel 7 Telethon Trust in 2012 to fund health and medical research that focuses on the health of children and adolescents in WA.<\/p>\n<p>Funded research activities may be wide-ranging but must address areas of direct significance to child and adolescent health. Research may include basic, clinical, health service, or population health research.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, for this year, priority areas for funding have been nominated. These include:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>WA Health led research;<\/li>\n<li>Projects that utilise and collaborate with past <em>TPCHRF Stream 2 Strategic Research initiatives <\/em>; and<\/li>\n<li>Targeted research to address the research needs of the <a href=\"https:\/\/ww2.health.wa.gov.au\/Articles\/A_E\/Child-and-Youth-Health-Network\">WA Youth Health Policy<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The Department of Health\u2019s closing date is <strong><u>1:00pm, Wednesday 20 February 2019.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Further information along with the <em>Guidelines for Applicants<\/em> and <em>Application Forms<\/em> can be found at: <a href=\"http:\/\/ww2.health.wa.gov.au\/Articles\/S_T\/Telethon-Perth-Childrens-Hospital-Research-Fund\">http:\/\/ww2.health.wa.gov.au\/Articles\/S_T\/Telethon-Perth-Childrens-Hospital-Research-Fund<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Group or individual information sessions can be arranged to assist researchers with applying.
