{"id":2516,"date":"2017-05-22T14:30:45","date_gmt":"2017-05-22T06:30:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wahtn.org\/?p=2516"},"modified":"2017-05-22T14:30:45","modified_gmt":"2017-05-22T06:30:45","slug":"mrff-funding-into-clinical-trials-in-australia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/old-website.retprogram.org\/wahtn\/2017\/05\/22\/mrff-funding-into-clinical-trials-in-australia\/","title":{"rendered":"MRFF Funding into Clinical Trials in Australia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Minister for Health, Greg Hunt has announced the detail around the allocation of the funding into clinical trials in Australia as handed down at the 2017 Budget last Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key elements of the MRFF funding boost for clinical trials:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Supporting research in public health and rare diseases:\u00a0$13 million\u00a0<\/strong>will be used to support research into a number of public health areas which contribute to the highest burden of disease, including the application of precision medicine.<\/li>\n<li><strong>More fellowships for clinical researchers:\u00a0<\/strong>The Turnbull Government will invest\u00a0<strong>$8 million<\/strong>\u00a0to ensure the supply of high-quality next-generation research talent through boosting the scale of existing NHMC fellowship schemes.
